How to Make a Mini-Book

How to Make Mini-Books
For mini-books with four pages per sheet:

After printing, if the pages, held in the proper orientation, have the title page in the lower right-hand corner or upper right-hand corner:

  • Make a double-sided copy on 81/2 x 11 paper of the mini-book for each student.
  • Holding the page(s) in the orientation of the mini-book, cut along the horizontal line. (Step 1 to the right)
  • Stack the pages in order with the title page on top. (Step 2 to the right)
  • Fold the pages in half along the dotted line. (Step 3 to the right)
  • Check to make sure that the pages are in the proper order, and then staple them together along the spine. (Step 4 to the right)

NOTE: If you cannot make double-sided copies, you can photocopy single-sided copies of each page, cut the mini-book pages apart, and stack them together in order, with the title page on top. Then staple the pages together along the left-hand side.

If the page, once printed and held in the proper orientation, has the title page in the upper left-hand corner:

  • Make single-sided photocopies of the book pages.
  • Hold the page in the orientation of the mini-book, cut along the horizontal line. [See above.]
  • Stack the pages in order with the title page on top.
  • Staple the pages together along the left-hand side.

For mini-books with two pages per sheet:

  • Make single-sided photocopies of the book pages
  • Fold the front cover/back cover in half along the dashed line, keeping the fold to the left side.
  • Fold each inner page in half, keeping the fold to the right side.
  • Place the inner pages inside the cover and staple along the spine.
